Welcome to the Euro3D - Lyon C Libraries website. This page is dedicated for downloading the latest (potentially unstable, definitely unsupported) releases regarding the Euro3D-LCL libraries.

The Euro3D-LCL I/O library

The Euro3D-LCL I/O library is the official Euro3D I/O library, implementing the FITS Euro3D data format according to the latest specifications, and offering a variety of tools for efficient and portable programming (option parsing, session handling, standard and error I/O, etc.).

• The Euro3D-LCL I/O Reference Manual, directly generated from the 1.0b sources via Doxygen, is available in different formats (protected: tigre + arlette):

  • Paper version (PDF, 2.0M, 299 pp.)

The Euro3D-LCL development environment - Template project

The Euro3D-LCL Template project should help you to set up your own project using a standardized software development environment. It includes a template project architecture (directories and template files) and a developer guide describing how to set-up your own project. The developer guide can be downloaded directly from this site (see below) and is also available inside the template package (E3D_Template-X.X/doc/ directory).

If your project is already set-up and you are looking for examples of how to use the Euro3D LCL functionalitities, see the Cookbook section.

The Euro3D-LCL I/O cookbook

The Euro3D-LCL I/O cookbook project gathers a whole bunch of minimalist programs and datasets describing how to use in practice the Euro3D-LCL I/O library. The tarball contains the cookbook itself and the sources of all the programs described in the cookbook.

This is a good starting point if you want to enhance existing projects, but if you want to develop your very own project from scratch, you should first have a look at the template section.

Euro3D-LCL Miscellaneous Tools

In this section, we have gathered a bunch of tools that could be useful in the frame of Euro3D-LCL developments. Most of them were developed for the IFU library (the not-so-old ancestor of the Euro3D-LCL libraries), and will be (hopefuly) updated for Euro3D.

• An IFU-specific Emacs mode (v0.3) to customize the standard C-mode, to be updated for Euro3D, including:
  • IFU-specific type support (e.g. TABLE, SPECTRUM, etc.)
  • Highlights of suspicious C constructions
  • Minimum Doxygen support
  • Specific outline mode
• An automatic prototyping Perl script, to be updated for Euro3D, that will look (recursively) for function definition in C-files of the directory to produce a function-prototyping include file.
